Wherein Maelynn Hates on Satan!

September 4, 2017

Congrats on your baptism, Miles!

Congrats Grandma and Grandpa - 60 years of marriage! They say the first 50 are the difficult ones, so now all is easy breezy, no?

I don't have any sort of fun stories this week. But we had a little meeting with the bishop this weekend after a rather rough ward council, and we talked about how there are 3 times in one's life that Satan attacks more than ever.

1: when someone's preparing to serve a mission.
2: when someone's getting ready to be sealed in the temple.
3: when someone's preparing to be baptized.

Well of course he's going to be working hard, these are times when people are going to be making important covenants with God, or going to help others make these covenants. In the mission I have seen how he works when people are trying to change their lives and come closer to God by being baptized. Oh how frustrating he is!  People feel the spirit, start making changes, and then something happens in their family, or they all of a sudden "decide that they want to stay in their religion" (even though they haven't been to church in years), or they just feel like they don't know enough after 4 months in enseñanza.

Honestly, hes just so annoying! I hope that when we have feelings like this: "that we're not good enough, we don't know enough, that maybe the church just isn't for me", that we can realize where these thoughts are coming from, and say as the Savior did, "Get thee hence, Satan."

And I know we can do this as we come to know and trust in the Lord. because "if God be for us, who can be against us?"
Love,
Hermana Bailey
