Wherein Seth Gets to Know Tizimin.

    So life out here in Tizimin is pretty awesome. It's a pretty big small town and the people here are great. There is a definite Mayan influence here but I like it. Life is going real well. 

    We have found a load of people that are wanting to listen to the message of hope that we have. We definitely have found a lot of miracles here in Tizimin and now the work is accelerating and I'm just doing my best to keep my foot on the gas. 

     Our mission president started a new challenge this last week where the companionship who finds the most people to teach gets a smart phone for the week. It's his fun way of introducing the smart phones into the mission. Kinda crazy how fast times are changing and how the work of God is progressing these days, especially through the use of technology.  But yeah, over all, I'm doing well. I'm happy and healthy.

      Dear mum,

        Thanks for sharing those scriptures. Kinda funny how things coincide because it just so happens that yesterday in a lesson an investigator asked us what we think about the perfection. Like, is it actually possible to be a perfect person. This led into a great discussion of the atonement of Jesus Christ and repentance. I really like how our whole purpose here as missionaries is to preach repentance to all and oh how important that message is. The fact that we have the opportunity to repent is the most beautiful thing in the world. It is only by and through the atonement of Christ that we can one day, truly become perfected in him and deny ourselves of all unrighteousness. There are few accounts in the scriptures that mention men being perfect, Noah, Seth, Job, and most importantly Christ himself. We can all strive day by day to be better and that is what is truly important; the daily repentance and changes that we make in our lives to one day, whether it be far or near, be able to happily return to God and Be perfect like He is.

Wherein Seth Buys Himself Hair Trimmers!

      Oh yep. totally forgot to tell y'all that my p-day changed. Every time we have transfers it's the Saturday before. I don't know if I got the money but I did spend some money on my birthday. I had a wonderful time. I bought a hair cutting machine thing. The ones that the professionals use and my kid cut my hair right before I left.

      My new companion is awesome and super organized. Like probs a lil' OCD but that's good cause you know that I kinda have a problem with making messes. So that should improve.

     The area is awesome. My ward is great. It's pretty small. Yesterday we got to church at 8:58 and the chairs and sacrament weren't set up´yet. So we did that and ended up blessing the sacrament for the ward and taking it to a sick lady so that was kinda a flashback to my days as a priest.

     Good luck to Sadie with the whole pageant thing. She's probably gonna win so that's good. Anyway, love you all.

Wherein Seth Celebrates His First Birthday in Mexico!

    {Faith hope charity and love week 24/12 in Pedregal}... 
        So for all y'all who were wondering... yes, I'm still in the same area that I started my mission in (Pedregal). And yes, I still love it here. But on monday I get sent outa here to a small town called Tizimin. A little bittersweet because now I know like this entire area, all the members, all the investigators, I have a few really close to baptism and a ton of memories in this place. But at the same time I'm am super ready to head on to some other adventures in my life and find something new. My new companion is Elder Zuñiga. I haven't met him yet but I'm pretty certain he's awesome. That's about as exciting as it gets. 

This week we worked really hard with a young couple Franklin and Leti. We got them so close to getting married and baptized. but then they didn't. They also bought me a birthday cake and so that was awesome.

Pretty much I had the best birthday here. We got like 4 pizzas and 11 liters of soda for dinner, then I had cake from Franklin, made some tacos at the Moo's taco stand, and then some more cake from Elder Romney. Really just the best.

     On a different topic, my watch died a couple of days ago and had to wait until today to go and get it fixed. Kinda a strange situation, but I learned a lot. While being a missionary, everything you do is supposed to be punctual.
      Without having the time sitting on my wrist, I had to become a lot more reliant on my companion. I also was able to enjoy the world a little bit more, because being punctual was no longer a concern of mine. I just let my comp take that responsibility and walked around, enjoying the beauty of Cancun. I'd encourage you all to spend a little time this week, not worrying about anything, turning off your phone or watch or whatever normally takes your attention, and simply enjoy this world.

Wherein Seth Learns the Power of Forgiveness

     Thank you so much mom. I am kinda dying over here, got kinda overwhelmed with all the happy birthday emails from all the family and friends. Kinda loco but alright. 

     Also this week was really awesome. I had some trouble with my comp, but that got resolved and herein lies the miracle. I won't go into depth of the problems or any of that but I have to say that the most amazing feeling in the world is that of Forgiveness- both being forgiven and forgiving others. The love that can be felt and the joy that comes from this blessing is insane. 

     This week was awesome and there are plenty of adventures to come.  Also This is Edgar. he's a legend. and I bought a legit fanny pack today so that's chill.
