Wherein Lane Learns the Importance of Obedience.

 May 26, 2025

Ya a good week this week! Once again not too much crazy stuff to tell, but don't take that as though it was a bad week.

This week was a little slow as far as finding new people, but the people that we did find are super awesome and have a lot of potential. And we are also finally seeing the fruits of the hard work from the last couple of weeks. Everything's coming together slowly and surely.

Tomorrow, the 27th, Camila is gonna get baptized!!! Actually so super excited about it, and I know that its gonna so great for her. You'll for sure see pics in the Google photos next week.

Besides that we have Zone conference this week, and it's gonna be the last one with these mission presidents. Gonna be interesting changing presidents but I know it'll be good.

Also congrats to all my buds who graduated this last week, good luck to all of you in life! It was super cool to see just how many of y'all are going on missions too, that's exciting.

🌱🌊 Spiritual section:
Well... I gotta give a shoutout to my boy Elijah. I know spiritual sections aren't the place to do shootouts but this time it is. My boy Elijah is serving in Lima!! And he's absolutely killing it. He's gonna be finishing up this year, and he is definitely one of my biggest role models, I look up to him a lot.
But this last week he sent me a nice voice message, and said some things I've heard from various people, my mission president, my leaders, and my companions. And that is about being 100% obedient. Now I wanna say before hand, I'm not super disobedient, but I'm definitely not the 100% obedient that all of my leaders and comps have mentioned. And for some reason, Elijah reached out this last week, and mentioned the same, calling me to repentance (in a good way). He invited me to change, because he doesn't want me to look back on my mission and remember disobedience. And I don't know why, when hearing this from my companions, and district leaders and even my mission president, that it went in one ear and out the other. But when Elijah talked to me about it, I felt like I did and do indeed need to start to change. So thats what happened this week. I talked to my comp about helping me out, and little by little I'm working on becoming the best missionary I can.

#reverentlyandmeeklynow

Another short one. And I know I just talked about being more obedient and now I'm sending this at 7:30, but it's line upon line yall. Whoever is free of sins can throw the first stone. Don't look at the mote in my eye and not the beam in yours.
Haha just kidding love y'all have a great week

You guys are the best,

Wherein Lane Learns the Importance of Hard Work and Patience.

 May 19th, 2025

Yeah super good week but as always nothing new I'm running out of time and so I hope you understand if this email is short and kind of crappy. Also I'm using voice to text so if its not 100% correct I'm sorry I don't have time to proof read.

Basically a normal week our friend Camila who is going to get baptized on the 27th is super awesome. She has such a strong testimony and is besties with the whole ward now.
Besides Camila really nobody else is progressing that much which is kind of sad this week we didn't find that many new people and the work is kind of slow but I know that if we keep trying that will be able to find the chosen people.

For P day today we just Chilled Went to a petting zoo type farm And played some volleyball and other various games. Me and my comp wanted to go to some ancient Incan ruins at the "Templo de Fertilidad" (look up pictures) but the DL shut that down pretty quickly. πŸ˜’

Me and my companion are getting along pretty well. Low key he's super awesome and a hard worker and it's inspiring me to be less lazy and more diligent.
But he's going to leave me again to go to Cusco so I'm going to be trapped with the district leader again for another couple days. Kind of sad about that because me and him don't exactly get along that well. But I'm trying guys to be patient and full of Love.

🌱🌊 Spiritual section:
Wow recently these are the not-too-spiritual sections. But next week ill change that. I'm not actually 100% sure if I have made a spiritual section about patience and hard-working and all that kind of stuff I'm pretty sure I have, but this spiritual section is going to be the same. I am coming to know that patience and humility are, in my mind, the two most important attributes that we can have in following the example of Jesus Christ. Those who have both humility and patience will see infinitely less problems in their lives. And the problems that do arise are handled way easier.
For those of you who know me personally you know that I'm not that patient of a person, and it has definitely been something I've been working on in the mission. But i just wanna invite yall to do the same and work on your patience and humility because they are the most important!!!!

Another week down, another to follow. Until next time

Love yall

Wherein Lane Remembers How Much He Loves His Mom

 May 12, 2025

Well hmm... what happened this week?? Let me think...

Ok no joke I started at like 10am now it's 5:30 and I thought (forgot) all day just so I could write yall a good email... but to no avail, sorry.

So here we are, last minute as always, to tell you how my life's going.

First off, Happy Mother's Day, to all the moms our there. And my mom. Thanks for all you do.

Basically this week was actually chill. And we got to do some good misionary work! Main awesome thing is that our friend Camila, (sister of a convert) accepted a baptismal date. This 27th. So thats cool!! She's the best, and lowkey has a strong testimony. Like with her I had the most powerful lesson of my whole mission so far. Almost started crying... almost.

But besides Camila, we don't have too many friends who are progressing a whole lot. But we've been trying to reactivate members as well as find new people. And its been going good so far!!

Me and Elder LeΓ³n are getting a long so far. He's been a district and zone leader basically since he started his mission (he has 3 months left) and so he's got lots of leadership experience.
And if you know me, I'm kinda more, rebellious, por decir.
But yea, its not been as bad as I thought. We've been getting along. And I've been learning a lot.

But yesterday, Sunday, my comp went to Cusco, and so last night, and all of Pday, I have been with my district leader. And I get along a little less well with him, but we got through Pday, and my comp will get back tomorrow so all will be well. I have been learning a lot of patience

🌱🌊 Spiritual section:
My spiritual thought came from studying about moms, and how they have some of the most important work on the earth, and reading about families. And I really learned a lot, and how pur focus needs to be on helping others come closer to Christ. Wether it be as a mother, a missionary, or just a friend. We always need to be helping others always grow a relationship with Christ. And the easiest way is through service, and through examples. So get put there and serve. Show love, and be like a mom.

NingΓΊn otro amor en la vida mortal llega a aproximarse mΓ‘s al amor puro de Cristo que el amor abnegado que una madre siente por un hijo. - Jeffery R. Holland.
(Sorry its in spanish)

Actually not that bad of a week thanks for reading I hope you guys all have a wonderful week

Until next week. Byeee

Wherein Lane Attends His First Stake Conference in the Mission.

 May 6, 2025

Ya I know i said this week would be a better email than last week, me vas a disculpar, but I was just super lazy this Pday and wrote only a part of the email, and then I forgot to finish and send it, and then just right now I remembered to finish and send it, sorry its super late.... and no, todays not my pday πŸ€«

Anyways onto the email!!

Hellooo family, friends, and fellow missionaries. Thanks for checking back in. This week was pretty nice.
After some chaos with transfers and what not, I got my new companion, Elder Leon!! He's so far pretty cool. He ends next transfer, and knows a lot, so I'm hopefully gonna learn a lot as well this transfer.

Not anything super duper big or crazy happened during the week! Trying to find new people to teach. Really we don't have many who are progressing a lot. So just finding new people is gonna be very important!!

This weekend we had stake conference. The first stake conference I've been in on the mission. It was actually super great! We didn't have a bunch of friends come, but it was still good.

Then today P-day, we went to a fair that happens once a year where they sell just everything miniature, so i got a few souvenirs. And probably spent way to much money on clothes I can't even proselytize in. πŸ˜¬

🌱🌊 Spiritual section:
Something I loved that they talked about a lot in stake conference, was reinforcing what was said by Elder Holland in GC. That we aren't just sayers, or talkers, we are doers. If we are going to claim to be good Christians, and members of Christ's church, we need to act accordingly. We need to love our enemies, serve our neighbors, and do all the things the Savior taught.
“Many of us profess to be Christians, yet we … do not take Him seriously. … We respect Him, but we don’t follow Him. … We quote His sayings, but we don’t live by them.” “We admire Him, but we don’t worship Him.”

Let us not fall into the norms of the world. We need to be different then all the rest. Stand out, Pkead out, Look out, and Reach out.

Really not to shabby of a week!!

Thanks for reading
