Wherein Sadie Attends Santiago's Baptism

Hey!!

We had Santiago's baptism yesterday! The ward supports him a lot and patiently as he learns! He feels like he's found a family there and they give him the love he feels like he never had because his mom left him when he was younger. We've watched Jesus Christ and His gospel, start to heal him. 

So there's a hole in the ozone above Uruguay apparently and I'm getting fried already! Living in my bucket hat from here on out!

I was also reading this week the story of when God commands Nephi to build a ship and its a great reminder that God will show us how to complete what he has asked of us and we can and should always look to Him for guidance. He wants to help.

Wherein Sadie Completes a Full YEAR of her Mission

November 20, 2023

 Happy Thanksgiving this week!!! Hope you all enjoy yummy food and time with loved ones and can focus on gratitude!! I am grateful for a lot of things, especially for the opportunity I've had to be a full-time missionary for the last year! Ya, that's right, even though the email says 51 weeks, a whole year ago today I was set apart as a missionary for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. I've had 4 areas, and 7 companions, I still can't really speak Spanish, I'm still trying to create a habit of good study, I've put holes in 3 pairs of insoles, had lots of sunburns, frozen my butt off, and eaten way too much pasta, but it has been a real privilege. God loves His children a whole lot. I hope I can continue becoming who God needs me to be these next 6 months and serve the people here with everything I've got. The mission isn't all sunshine and rainbows...at all. But it sure is worth it I think.

Some things we did this week:

Monday: pday in Florida

Tuesday: multizone conference & exchanges

Wednesday: return from FL& district council

Thursday: wedding for Claudia

Friday: work work work

Saturday: baptism of Claudia

Sunday: spoke in church and lead the choir

We put Santiago and Cristian on date! Please pray for them!

I love the phrase His covenant embrace. It is through these covenants that we feel the love of our Heavenly Father. God's love splashes a ton on missionaries trying to carry His love to others. Join the team!

Wherein Sadie Has Lamb Days in Uruguay!

 Hi!! How are you? I'd love to hear!

Last week I told my parents that this pueblito reminds me of Fountain Green, the town and ward that I left from. Well, this weekend they had like a festival thing here called Cordero Pesado. It's just a big event where they cook and eat a bunch of lamb and there's a bunch of other things just like lamb days in Fountain Green haha. If you know, you know. We didn't go but we heard it and all about it.

We had a bunch of lessons with members this week. It was cool.

This week we have a friend who gets married on Thursday and will be baptized on Saturday. She has 2 kids with autism that are anxious about it all so she is worried about how to keep them calm for the wedding and baptism. Please pray for the family Riva.

I'm just gonna be real with y'all, I am just probably the worst missionary in the world when it comes to studying. Like I'm disappointed in myself about it but I am very slowly making it through the Book of Mormon and I can say without a doubt that it brings me peace and I feel good as I read it slowly, but surely, every day now. 

    I invite all of you to read the scriptures even just a little bit, every day. It brings more of the power of God into our lives and helps us think celestial! I know the Book of Mormon is true and invite you all to read it.   

     Maybe faster than me!  If you have study tips, please send them to me. I probably needed to be good at studying already like 10 months ago.
