Wherein Lane Gets Sick and Stays by the Lake.

 April 28, 2025

Pretty decent week

Went to Cusco on Wednesday... AP's are kinda bummers but its ok, i deal with it

Then I got freaking sick on Thursday-today still.
But I wasn't about to stay home, so we went out and worked like normal. Hopefully I didn't get any of our friends sick.

But yea, then on Saturday we got transfer news. I'm staying here in Villa del Lago. I have a new comp Elder LeΓ³n. We'll see how he is. All I know is that he's from Bolivia.

Anyways, that's about all, nothing crazy this P-day. If you wanna send me an email please do.

🌱🌊 Spiritual section:

At the end of transfers I always remember how important it is to keep working hard. Some missionaries slow down at the end of transfers, but that's when you gotta work the hardest. Basically the lesson is stick it out to the end. Also I've learned that you've gotta always make the best of your situation. I had heard things about my area and what not before hand, but its important you don't automatically make others opinions your opinions without making them yourself. Important to always give your best in whatever you're given and God will work miracles.
Sorry these are getting less spiritual, I'll try and make next weeks better.

Wherein Lane witnesses THREE Baptisms!

 April 21, 2013

Well, I'm still here in PerΓΊ, chugging along. Days are getting repetitive, not sure if that's good or bad, I'm gonna say kina bad. But the work carries on! But yea. This weekend at least was good and mixed things up a bit.

First of all, of Friday, Jennifer got baptized. I got to baptize her, which was sweet!! She is the absolute best. She's 18, and has the cutest 4 m old baby, Nain. It was awesome to help her progress and see her desire and everything.
After her baptism, but before we ate the cake and what not, we had ward choir practice and so she stayed for that.
And ended up singing with us on Sunday! Which was a miracle because she said she was going to travel Saturday and Sunday.

Then Brandon, the one I've talked about for the last few weeks, got baptized this Saturday!! It was a combined baptism with 3 other wards!! With 6 people baptized in total!! It was awesome!!

Also before that joint baptism, the sisters from our district called, and asked if I'd baptize their friend Yamila!! (They know im the best with kids) She is the sweetest. She is only 8 years old, and was super afraid of going in the water, but after a little bit of talking, she was very brave, and got baptized. (Even if I had to carry her out of the font)

Ohh and it was zone conference and interviews with president.

Anyways, that's about all that happened this week, if you got a sec and wanna email me, no problem, P-day is kinda lame.

🌱🌊 Spiritual section:
Hehe, I know basically every missionary  is gonna have Easter as their spiritual thought, (probs because it was easter πŸ€·‍♂️) and im not gonna be any different.
Easter was super awesome!! Mostly because there was no eggs, or bunnies this time. It was an all around focus on Jesus. I read a bunch of the Bible this week, which is cool cuz I like never read the bible! But also I read a lot of the Book of Mormon too. I always find it so amazing. That these people who never had seen Jesus, had so much faith in him!! And bore testimony of Him for hundreds of years, until eventually He showed up!!
Sounds an awful lot like our day and age! The majority of us probably haven't seen Jesus. But we too can testify and have faith in Him, until one day as well, we'll see Him in person too!
How lucky that the people in Jerusalem and around there got to see Jesus, and walk and talk with Him.
But how lucky are we that we haven't, and still believe.
John 20:29: "Jesus saith unto him, Thomas, because thou hast seen me, thou hast believed: blessed are they that have not seen, and yet have believed."
I hope we can always believe and have faith in the resurrected Christ! Happy Easter everyone!!

Wherein Lane Watches General Conference in Spanish

April 7, 2025

Ok I'm gonna speedrun trying to get this email sent out before 6!! (Gotta stay consecratedπŸ˜‰)

Anyways this week is honestly been pretty chill there was a couple funny stories that happened and what not if you want to hear about them send me an email and I'll tell you next week!! (Not just my way to get yall to email me)

But we have a few friends who are progressing. Also we have one who has a baptismal date for the 19th! We are pretty excited about that. His name is Brandon and he is super awesome. Every time we have a lesson with him he ends up saying something that surprises us. For example, after explaining the restoration, he just mentions that when he's bored he reads the Book of Mormon and is already in Enos! How cool!

But yea not a bunch going on, but we just keep on working!! 24/6!!

Also I'm sure all you back in the US are getting excited for summer, but here we're just getting ready for the opposite!! We're entering in the cold season, and im in the coldest part of the mission!! So that's gonna be great!

🌱🌊 Spiritual section:
Conference was supper super good!! Lots of talks about children, and missionary work, and preparing ourselves... so I beg of you!!!! Take heed!!! Teach your kids!!! Share the gospel!! And puh-lease don't postpone your repenting or testimony building until the last moment!! Stay strong!! And carry on!!

But on a real note, the conference was super good! Listening in Spanish wasn't actually bad, but I'll be going back in my personal studies and listening in English lol.
But everyone send me an email and tell me what your favorite talk is and one thing y'all learned

#followtheprophet

Well things are going good here in the cold Puno! Chugging along! Wish you all the very best!!

Later
